Golfers turned out in force on Sept. 27 for the third annual Marco Island Police Foundation golf tournament, held in ideal conditions at the Island Country Club. Organizers expect to swell the foundation’s coffers by about $20,000 with the proceeds. High points of the day included a 348-yard winning long drive by Brian Day, and a score of 16 under par for the winning team of Mike Kelly, Tom Griffin, Gary Coar and Jim McGregor.
