“Member get a member” month
Bring in a friend to tour the Y and when they join as a new member, both of you will receive a YMCA tote bag. Offer good through Sept.
Youth indoor co-ed soccer
No more worries about the heat, field conditions and ants! Air-conditioned facility and no boundaries makes (play off the walls) for an exciting game that will allow for more playing time and a better development of skills! For grades K through fifth. Fee is $40 for YMCA members and $55 for all others. All games to be played at the YMCA main gym. Indoor instructional co-ed soccer
“Little kickers” is a sport specialized program that introduces your “little one” to the exciting game of soccer. Playing in an air-conditioned facility allows for a better focus with the child less likely to tire as they do in the heat. Participants play with foam soccer balls to eliminate the hardness and sting of a regular ball. Emphasis will be on dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and goal tending skills. For ages 3 to 5. 1 to 2 p.m., Sept. 13 to Oct. 18. Fee is $20 for members: $35 all others.
Instructor: Vince Iorio. Participants are to wear sneakers with socks, shorts, T-shirt and shin guards. Register today at the customer service desk or by phone with Visa or Mastercard.
Gymnastics program
The Greater Marco Family YMCA offers monthly gymnastic instructional programs. The program is taught by Kamal Farhat, who has just returned from the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. He was on the national team for his home country of Libya where he trained for the Olympic games. Kamal will bring well rounded teaching techniques focusing on the strength, balance and grace needed for gymnastics. This program is open for all children ages 3 to 16. The program meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the “Y” gym.

Cheerleading classes
Classes will be taught by Nicole Wood. Nicole was a cheerleader in high school and college and also coached at both levels. She is currently an instructor at Tommie Barfield Elementary.
Ages 4 to 13.
Session 1 is through Oct. 28 for eight weeks.

All classes at YMCA Gym. Single: $60 members/ $80 others. 2 classes: $105 members/ $145 others. All classes: $150 members/ $210 others. Dress: Shorts, T Shirts, dance pants, tennis shoes.
Family snorkeling
Learn from Geoff Fahringer SSI Certified snorkeling dive master and IANTD Dive Instructor. Day one includes classroom instruction and pool orientation to snorkeling techniques. This includes equipment information and usage, all elements of snorkeling such as mask clearing, different types of kicks, swimming on the surface and resting drills, use of snorkel vest and surface dives. The second day will be an open water dive. (All participants to meet at the “Y”). This program is open to ages 8 and older (must have competent swimming skills.) Under 12 must attend with a parent. Scheduled sessions are Sept. 20, Oct. 11 and 18, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. $45 per student — includes student manual, snorkel certification card. Participants are required to purchase fins, mask and snorkel. Vest is optional, however vital for younger divers and novice swimmers. In addition, upon registration, participants are required to fill out medical history form.
Family scuba
Geoff Fahringer, IANTD Certified dive instructor will teach a small intimate course of dive instruction for up to no more than four divers. Course instruction includes dive theory, the physics of diving, equipment and more! Scheduled are two lecture sessions, up to three pool sessions and four open water dives. For a fee of $475, the class hours will be tailored to the students needs.
Swim lessons
Scheduled for Sept. 18, Oct. 6-16, Oct. 27, Nov. 6. $50 members, $70 others. Marco residents may receive a $10 discount for youth swimming lessons through funds provided by the City of Marco Island. (Must show proof of residency.) All classes meet Monday thru Thursday for two weeks.

Cardio tennis
Join others in this fun and exciting fitness class. Drop in a class or sign up for a series of five sessions. Classes meet on Tuesday from 6-7 p.m., Friday from 9-10 a.m. and Saturday from 8-9 a.m. on Court #1. Cost is only $5 for “Y” members per class, $8 for others or buy a series of five classes; only $20 for members and $30 for others.
Tennis
Tennis” Round Robins” are also available year round at the “Y.” Call 394-3144 ext 224 for scheduling your next “Round Robin.” Please do not drop in for “Round Robin”. Places must be reserved. “Round Robins” are free to members and cost $10 for others. Sign up for these programs at the Customer Service desk.

Afterschool program
Register your child today for the A.S.P.I.R.E (After School Program for Inspiration, Recreation and Education) — Think summer camp with a twist. Meet at Charter School Patio/Community Room adjacent to the TBE Cafeteria. Pick- up location is the YMCA Clubhouse. Afterschool until 6 p.m., Monday- Friday. Fee $45. Weekly Fee- Member for $30 and $40 for others. Early release fees for weekly participants, $5. Full day fees for weekly participants $10 Discounted monthly rates available. Child care staff party
Parents of all third, fourth and fifth grade students, make plans to attend the “Disco” themed party on Sept. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. to be held at the Greater Marco Family YMCA Pool Deck. Dress up in your favorite “disco era” outfits and enter the costume contest. Prizes, all your favorite games and refreshments will also be available throughout the evening. Cost is only $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Save $2 and register at the Customer Service desk.
Adult dances
Come on out to the “Y” for “Dancing in the Moonlight,” a series of dance socials for adults aged 25 and up. These socials will be held at the pool deck under the “Dottie Weiner” Pavilion. DJ Steve Reynolds of Jukebox Productions will provide the music at each event from 7 to 10 p.m. Dances are open to the public. Only $10 gets you in the door! Dance schedule: Sept. 26, Oct. 24, November 21, December 19. Music will be mixed: Oldies, Country, Swing, Latin, specialty dances.
