Another fun and exciting week of activities here at the Greater Marco Family YMCA.
September is “Member Get a Member” month. Bring in a friend and when they join in September you both will receive a free gift! A great looking tote bag available in various colors.
The Gymnastics program with Coach Kamal is a sell out thanks to the renewed interest generated by the 2008 summer Olympic Games. The program had to be split into age groups to keep the children’s interest level up. It’s interesting to see the excitement in the faces of the children as they observe and take part in the floor exercises. Some comments made were, “this is fun” and also “this is hard.” We hope the interest level stays the same.
Registration still continues for “Little Kickers” and “Youth Indoor Soccer.” The Little Kickers program is open for 3 to 5 years who will learn the basics of the sport. Youth Indoor Soccer is for grades K through fifth. Both of these programs will take place indoors at the “Y” gym. Cool air conditioning and no bugs are the sizzle points to the programs!
Swim lessons with Dottie continues this week with another session scheduled for Oct. 6 through 16. Classes range from the tots to the more advanced swimmer.
