Congressional candidates to visit Marco

— Two Congressional candidates’ campaign trails lead them to Marco Island.

Florida State Senator Burt Saunders, a republican from Naples who is running as an independent, will be at a meet and great hosted by Island attorneys Woodward, Pires and Lombardo, PA at their offices at 606 Bald Eagle Drive, Suite 500, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday.

His opponent running for reelection, U.S. Representative Connie Mack, a republican of Fort Myers, will be at CJ’s on the Bay, formerly Bayview at the Esplanade, as guest speaker to the Marco Police Foundation luncheon Wednesday. Saunders and Mack are both running for District 14 U.S. representative

Others vying for Mack’s seat are Jeff George, running under no party affiliation and Democrat Robert Neeld, who ran unsuccessfully against Mack in 2004 and 2006.
