No breakouts among the swamis after last week’s prognostications.

In fact, Dottie Weiner tied with Don Healy for the top score at 11-3 and each climbed closer to leader Dave Rice.

Rice and Roger Raymond went 10-4.

For the season, Rice is 105-53, Weiner, 104-54, Healy, 102-56 and Raymond, 97-61.

Healy is hoping to rally this week, going against all the swamis on three choices.

His first upset pick is host Miami downing New England.

“Miami actually has a playoff chance this season and this would be a big win against a conference opponent,” Healy said.

In going with New England, Rice said, “Miami is knocking on the door of a return to greatness, but the door doesn’t open easily.”

In taking a struggling Philadelphia at Baltimore, Healy seems confused.

“A tough one to pick, I am taking Philadelphia for all the wrong reasons,” he said

“Just a guess because Seattle plays better at home” is why Healy takes the Seahawks over Washington.

He leaves the swamis wondering if he should check the mileage on his crystal ball, but then there is Weiner taking San Diego at home against Indianapolis. She keeps her reasons mum.

“This is a game of teams headed in different directions,” says Raymond of his choice of Indianapolis.

Speaking of Raymond, he is the only swami to take Houston at Cleveland. Healy takes the home team because of former Notre Dame Quarterback Brady Quinn, now Cleveland’s starter. Rice says Cleveland has better running backs.

In four other games the swamis differ.

Healy and Rice take Minnesota at Jacksonville. Raymond and Rice go with the home team.

In a huge game, Healy and Rice take Arizona at home against the New York Giants.

“This is my upset pick,” Raymond says and many would agree.

Rice says, “Arizona is one dimensional with the pass, while the Giants can pass and run.”

Another swami toss-up is Green Bay at New Orleans.

Healy and Weiner take New Orleans, while Rice and Raymond give the nod to New Orleans.

Possibly surprising is the swamis all take undefeated Tennessee at home against a rejuvenated N.Y. Jets. No one takes Brett Favre to lead the Jets to an upset.

In the public Pigskin Picks, winners were Eric Szczepanski, Gerald Borninski, Bryan Campbell, Elizabeth Schmidt and George J. Schmidt.
